Terms of Service

Last updated: 2 November 2026

These terms are the rules for using Learn Legal. By using the site or the installed app, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

What Learn Legal is

Learn Legal offers study notes, articles, audio and practice questions for law students. It is an educational resource. It is not a law firm, and nothing on the site is legal advice.

Do not rely on the site to deal with a real legal problem. If you need advice about your own situation, speak to a qualified lawyer.

Accuracy of the content

We work to keep the notes correct and up to date, but law changes, and mistakes happen. We do not promise that the content is complete, current or free of errors. Please check statutes, judgments and your syllabus against the official sources, especially before an exam or when you cite something. If you find an error, tell us at contact@learnlegal.in.

Your account

  • You can read most of the site without an account. Some features, such as your dashboard and the Requests board, need you to sign in with Google.
  • You are responsible for what happens under your account. Keep your Google account secure.
  • Give us true information, and do not use another person's account.
  • You can stop using the site at any time. To delete your account, email us.

Acceptable use

When you use Learn Legal, you agree not to:

  • break any law, or help anyone else to do so;
  • post anything abusive, hateful, defamatory, misleading or spam on the Requests board;
  • try to get into accounts, systems or data that are not yours, or disturb how the site works;
  • use bots, scrapers or other automated tools to copy the site in bulk, or to cheat on votes, scores or achievements;
  • copy, sell or republish our content, except as these terms allow.

What you post

You keep ownership of the requests you post. By posting one, you give us permission to display it on the site, and to edit, group, mark or remove it as part of running the Requests board. We can remove a request, or its status, at our discretion. We are not bound to build or add anything that is requested, and a request marked "In progress" or "Done" is not a promise of a date or result.

Our content

The notes, articles, questions, design and code on Learn Legal belong to us or our licensors, and they are protected by copyright. You may read them, listen to them, and keep copies for your own personal study. You may share a link to a page, and quote short extracts with credit to Learn Legal.

You may not copy, sell, republish, or build a product or dataset from our content without our written permission. Statutes and court judgments that we summarise are public documents, but our explanations and the way we arrange them are ours.

Availability

We try to keep the site running, but we do not promise that it will always be available or free of faults. We may change, pause or remove any feature or content at any time. Some pages may work offline in the installed app, but the content may not be up to date until you reconnect.

Ending your access

We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms, or if we need to for security or legal reasons. You can stop using the site whenever you like.

Limits of our responsibility

The site is provided "as is", without any warranty. To the fullest extent the law allows, Learn Legal is not responsible for any loss that comes from using the site or relying on its content, including exam results or decisions you make based on the notes. Nothing in these terms limits any right you have that the law does not allow us to limit.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute about them will be dealt with by the courts in India that have jurisdiction.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We will change the date at the top of this page. If you keep using the site after a change, you accept the updated terms.
